All section weeklong camp being hosted by NSW Lones Scout Group open to all members of Scouts and Guides.
Camp duration depends on the youth member’s section
Rovers, Venturers and Scouts
arrive on Sunday 28.09.2025 at 1300hrs
Cubs, Joeys and Joey Parents
arrive on Wednesday 1 October 2025 at 1300hrs
All attendees
depart on Saturday 4 October 2025 at 1300hrs
All participant receive a camp hat and blanket badge.
Working in mixed patrols youth members will take turn with daily kitchen duties etc
Working in sections youth will be offered activities as follows: (subject to weather conditions)
- Abseiling
- Bushwalking
- Canoeing / kayaking for joeys, cubs and young scout (dependent on skill level)
- Sailing for older Scouts, Venturers and Rovers (dependent on skill level)
- Leadership course for Cubs, Scouts and Venturers
- Flying Fox
- Archery
- Sightseeing educational day through Canberra
and MORE.
Who can come? – Membership Requirements
Participants
- Must be a registered member of Scouts Australia or a member of Girl Guides at the time of application and through until 13 July 2024.
- Have approval from their Scout or Guide Unit Council
- Have consent from their parents/guardian
Leader / Rover Scout / Other Adult
- Must be registered as a Rover Scout, Leader or Adult Helper in Scouts Australia or Girl Guides at the time of application and through until 13 July 2024
- Hold a valid Working with Children Check.
- All service and line leaders over the age of 18 must be cleared by Scouts Australia NSW to work with children and young people prior to the start of the camp. This includes any adult helpers who must have submitted an A2 form and been accepted
- by the group prior to the event closing date.
Camping & Accommodation
All participants will be camping in BYO tents. Camp sites will be clustered by section. Sleeping areas are supervised till late in the evening and from the early hours of the morning. There are leaders close-by overnight to manage any emergencies.
Feeling Safe at Murum Weeklong Camp
Everyone in Scouts, youth and adults alike has the right to feel safe and be protected from abuse. No one is allowed to threaten you, hurt you, or touch you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, or afraid.
A Scout is respectful, and this applies to all interactions between all participants, youth and adults at Murum Weeklong Camp.
You do not have to deal with abuse on your own. If you feel unsafe, or threatened, or you see/hear something that causes you concern, please speak to a Leader or Rover on an activity. Your concerns will be taken seriously. The information you provide will be shared with people who can support and protect you.

If, for any reason, you do not feel the concerns of this nature that you raised at Winter Weeklong have been satisfactorily dealt with, please report your concerns directly to the Child Protection Team at the NSW State Office on 02 9735 9000 or via ChildProtection@nsw.scouts.com.au or your parents.
Payment & Refund Policy
All applications, payments and e-permissions must be received by the Murim Weeklong Camp admin team before the closing date. Any application not finalised before the closing date will be cancelled. Late applications may be accepted with the approval of the camp coordinator. Late applications will attract an administration fee of $30 unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Refunds for people who withdraw from the event after the closing date will also attract a $30 administration fee to cover costs incurred unless there are documented exceptional circumstances. All requests for refunds must be received before 3:00 pm on 31 August 2025..
General Health Policy
If you are unwell or are showing symptoms of a viral disease, we ask that you stay home, self-isolate and look after yourselves. Our refund policy allows any person who stays home and provides medical evidence will receive a refund for this event less the administration fee.
Event Cancellation Policy
If Murum Weeklong Camp is not able to proceed, the NSW Lones Scout Group will look for other avenues to deliver this event. If this is not possible, NSW Lones Scout Group will endeavour to refund as much of the application fee as possible subject to costs already incurred.
