Peel Valley Venturers is Group of 14.5 to 18 year old active Scouters in the Peel Valley area near Tamworth.

The Peel Valley Scout Group was set-up in 2011 as a Central Northern District Venturer Unit specifically to offer the Scouts from the Kootingal Moonbi,Tamworth Hillvue, Tamworth Oxley, Gunnedah & 1st Werris Creek Scout Groups a chance to participate in the Venturer Scout program.

This District Unit approach is seen as a good way of managing the high and low flow of Venturer aged Youth Members from those Scout Groups in the District and addresses the limited access to Adult Volunteers that are available to ‘Country Scouting’.

We strive to provide a Fun and Active program to our Youth Members, involving them in Regions Ventures & Initiatives and the annual Sate Dragonskin Events.  We participate in a number of adventurous training courses such as Flying Fox, Caving, White Water, Canoeing, First Aid and Bushwalking.

Our unit believes in the World Scouting approach to Scouting and there is an open invitation to Venturers from other Units to participate in Activities such as Expeditions and Debates. Peel Valley Venturers also participates in community service activities such as Anzac Day, Legacy Badge charity, Christmas Carols at Aged Care Nursing Homes and fundraising activities such Scout Job Week and Bunnings BBQ Fundraisers and wood raffles.

Our goal of continued growth in Youth Members and Leaders in the Central Northern District is achievable by concentrating on the principles of Scouting and we hope to equip our Venturers with life skills and decision making processes that will make them better Citizens of the Future.
